In the spirit of Robert Caro, we combine deep archival research with interviews, mailed questionnaires, on-the-ground reporting, and targeted public records requests. We also utilize large-scale analysis of public datasets.

Our aim is to target under-covered subjects with high-level, thoughtful reporting, particularly on the municipal level. We gravitate toward stories that span years or decades.
